More than meets the eye

Tonight, Greyson was changing into his pajamas and he was making machine type noises and moving like a robot. I gave him a confused look and he replied, "I'm transforming." :)
(This would be a transformers reference, in case you didn't know.)

In Nature

Today we took advantage of the beautiful weather (and lack of snow) to go exploring. We started out across the street and behind the garage. At one point we got "lost" and had Greyson lead the way back to "our" sledding hill. I think when Robert Frost wrote the poem "The Road Less Traveled" he had children in mind...forget about the path marked out by previous explorations...Greyson took us through all the trees and branches. After we "found" our way back we decided to take Greyson on an adventure to a river a mile or so away. As we walked I decided that we should pass the time and use the alphabet to explore nature. These are what Greyson observed with his senses (some letters had help from us).

A - address
B - branch
C - Chronicle [box] (help)
D - dirt
E - evergreen (help)
F - family
G - ground
H - house
I - ice
J - jump
K - kid
L - life
M - mud
N - nature (help)
O - outside
P - puddle
Q - quiet (sense of hearing)
R - rock
S - snow
T - tree
U - urine (Greyson had to pee at just the right time)
V - vegetation (help)
W - winter
X - (For this letter we just had Greyson find a "letter X" in nature - he found two trees that crossed each other to form an X)
Y - yawn (sense of hearing)
Z - zipper

We made it to the bridge and the river and continued to explore. Clayton took Greyson down to the river and had him feel the water. It sure was cold. Then we each picked out a stick and played the "Winnie-the-Pooh game" (where we all dropped our sticks at the same time then run to the other side of the bridge to see whose stick came out first; Clayton, then me, and then Greyson). We then did a little more exploring and finally headed back home. It was a nice time spent with family and nature.
