Day 22: Hands
His are the hands that held my during the birth of our son and the many months in the NICU that followed. His are the hands that held my during the loss of my grandmother and my uncle. And soon his will be the hands that I hold while pledging my love and my life to him as we become husband and wife. I love his strong hands!
Mine are the hands that wipe away the tears (I won't take all the credit as Clayton does wipe away plenty of tears). Mine are the hands that feed the mind (reading) and feed the body (breakfast, lunch and dinner). Mine are the hands that are lucky to be held by two of my loves! I love my capable hands!
His are the hands that took hold of my heart [the moment they took hold of my hands] and will never let go. His are the hands that fit snugly in mine, bring imagination to life, that would make any Ninja Warrior proud. I love his capable and strong hands [he's a part of the both of us].

Day 19 and Day 20
Day 19
Something orange
This is a picture of the sun in Greyson's solar system. He really enjoys learning about space (among other things). I hope he continues to be this interested in learning new things!
Day 20
Bokeh
Bokeh comes from the Japanese word Boke which means blur or haze. Bokeh is the blur or the aesthetic quality of the blur in out-of-focus areas of photographs.

Day 18: My shoes
Front row (L to R):
workout shoes, running shoes, the necessary black shoe, my super cute should be worn while boating moccasin type shoes.
Back row (L to R):
black boots (which are typically worn in the fall/winter but I didn't want people to think I was less of a girl because I don't own many pairs of shoes) and my seen better days make my feet stink silver shoes.

Day 17: Technology
This is the camera that my soon-to-be father-in-law attaches to his helmet before he goes skydiving. It is really cool to watch the videos. Technology is forever changing; it is amazing where we've come from!

Day 16: Long Exposure
Today's photo assignment was to take a long exposure photograph. In order to accomplish such a photograph one must have a tripod and a camera with the capabilities to certain aspects turned down to their lowest settings. I don't know what our camera is capable of but I do know we don't have a tripod and you must keep the camera perfectly still in order to capture a picture such as the one below.
This photo was not taken by me. I found it during a google search.

These are 13 things you will find in my purse.
Let me count them for you.
1. Glasses case
2. Purse holder
3. Weekly planner (life saver)
4. Checkbook pen (I took from New Song church when I was in NC for spring break...I had to bring something back with me, especially since my last New Song pen ran out of ink)
5. Mini New Testament Bible with Psalms and Proverbs (Clayton was given this in boot camp now I carry it with me)
6. Sever Sinus Headache medicine (I really hate sinus headaches)
7. Keys (Can't leave home without them. Literally)
8. Chap Stick (the original)
9. Sunglasses
10. Credit card and license wallet (from Japan)
11. Money and checkbook wallet (from Japan)
12. Notebook turned checkbook transaction register
13. I just realized I forgot to put my purse in the picture with was my thirteenth item!!! Fail! Maybe since it is Friday the 13th and this is my 13th post for this photography/blog series I can be let of the hook. Deal?
Yes. I am suppose to be in this picture as well. I tried to capture my reflection in the sunglasses but when the flash went off my reflection disappeared. I don't know how else I was suppose to be in this picture...but if you look closely you will find two pictures of me within this picture.

Day 12: Sunset
You don't get the best sunset way over here in Twin Lake and I forgot to bring my camera when we went to my parent's house tonight for dinner. I love the way the trees reflect in the water; it is so pretty.

Day 14: Eyes
When I saw the title of this blog post I automatically went "wedding," but I don't want to share anything that I will be wearing on that special day so I decided to have the 'something blue' be my eyes.
My nose sure does look big!

Day 10: Childhood Memories
I loved my childhood!
I say it all the time and sometimes I think people don't believe me, but seriously I LOVED MY CHILDHOOD! I would love to travel back in time and spend a day (any day) as a child again. For this very reason it took me all day to decide what childhood memory I wanted to capture with a camera. Would it be running through the sprinklers, playing on our swing set, making forts and clay pots down in the gully, "cooking" up some tasty treats in the sandbox, putting on a parade for the neighborhood, riding bikes, going for walks, playing tag, building floor plan houses out of leaves and pine needles (obviously not this one as it isn't fall)...the list could go on and on. Since I wasn't visiting my parent's house today I had to pick something that I could recreate while at Cris and Jim's. I decided that my childhood memory would be Skip-It; not the name brand, sold in stores Skip-It, but the made at home out of a spoon and jump rope Skip-It (Cris didn't have a jump rope so I settled for a dog leash). Now, our skip-it didn't tally the number of jumps for us and it wasn't the perfect length for jumping but it proved to be hours of fun. Our childhood lent itself to imagination and ingenuity, adventure and friendship, problem-solving and laughter. I am grateful for the childhood I had and for the three sisters and neighborhood full of children I spent it with.

Day 9: Someone I Love
I hope no expected me to choose between my two guys!
How could I?
I love them both so very much!
They make my heart smile!

Day 8: Bad Habit
Can you guess what my bad habit is?
Biting my nails?
Ding! Ding! Ding!
You are correct!

Day 7: Fruit
I love fruit!
I try to have fruit everyday, but that can be difficult since fresh fruit continues to ripen daily making its lastability obsolete. Today's picture contains more than just fruit. We also have vanilla activia yogurt and a broken up granola bar w/ cranberries and dark chocolate chips (organic from Cascadia Farms). Breakfast. The next picture is the fruit portion of the cobbler I am making for today's cookout. It will be topped with yellow cake mix and 16oz of 7-up, baked for 40 minutes at 400*, then enjoy! I can't wait.
This last shopping trip resulted in half of my total bill being fresh fruits and vegetables; which I think is AWESOME!!! I'm trying to follow my sister-in-law's (to-be) example by eating healthy foods more often. She eats completely clean (all organic) which I think is amazing...I don't know if we'll ever get there but it's kind of a goal.

Day 6: From a Low Angle
The place where we reside.

Day 5: From a High Angle
Today's post is 'from a high angle.' I was going to take a picture of the lake from the back porch but if the temperature is anything like yesterday (which was the prediction from the weather man) I don't want to step one foot outdoors until the sun goes down. So I decided to take a picture of Greyson playing on his LeapComputer. It is nice and cool down in the basement, so I can't blame him for wanting to spend his time down there rather than upstairs with me. :)

Day 4: Something Green
Just so everyone one who is viewing this blog knows, I do not drink mtn dew (I did a few times in high school - had to fit in; peer pressure is a B!TCH). I knew today was going to be a hot one and because I made the decision last night to run around the lake I knew there would be more time in the sun, thus more sweating, so I decided to bring along some water (which I don't normally) but because I do not have any water bottles with a pull tab top I had to wash and reuse Cris's mtn dew bottle and put on a pull tab top. I am so glad that I brought this along. I didn't drink much; more like took a shower with it. Wow! It was a hot one! Still I'm glad I did it.
Happy Fourth of July to everyone!!!

Day 3: Clouds
It is suppose to be hot today and what will happen to the current cloud cover is uncertain so I decided, even though they are not the best clouds, better safe than sorry. If I had to guess I would say today's temperature will burn off the clouds by lunch time. These clouds aren't big and puffy (which are my favorite) but you can see a little bit of blue sky so the clouds are somewhat defined.

Day 2: What I wore today
I've been putting of this 30 day series of photos so that I could make sure they were all fabulous (especially this one)...but life can't always be planned so instead of a super cute outfit with all the trimmings you get this...
This is me post P90X workout and 1 1/4 mile run (I had to include my running shoes because I did wear them today as well). Typically I would have showered and then dressed in something cute but today my mom and I cleaned out the shop for my bridal shower this Sunday (boy did I work up a sweat!). These clothes will be ready for the wash come Saturday.

Day 1: Self Portrait
If you read my previous post you'll know what this is...if not, I'm going to document the next 30 days with a picture post each day. Stay tuned.

It's been way too long...
I haven't blogged since February! You'd think with an upcoming bridal shower, bachelorette party, wedding/honeymoon, Clayton going off to Chicago for school and Greyson going to Kindergarten in the fall I'd have something, anything to blog about. Alas, I have nothing. If I think really hard I probably could come up with something.
I did find on pinterest 30 days of photos challenge (which my sister Jennifer did) and I debated doing it...It would give me something to blog about...I haven't decided yet. Maybe.

More than meets the eye
Tonight, Greyson was changing into his pajamas and he was making machine type noises and moving like a robot. I gave him a confused look and he replied, "I'm transforming." :)
(This would be a transformers reference, in case you didn't know.)

In Nature
Today we took advantage of the beautiful weather (and lack of snow) to go exploring. We started out across the street and behind the garage. At one point we got "lost" and had Greyson lead the way back to "our" sledding hill. I think when Robert Frost wrote the poem "The Road Less Traveled" he had children in mind...forget about the path marked out by previous explorations...Greyson took us through all the trees and branches. After we "found" our way back we decided to take Greyson on an adventure to a river a mile or so away. As we walked I decided that we should pass the time and use the alphabet to explore nature. These are what Greyson observed with his senses (some letters had help from us).
A - address
B - branch
C - Chronicle [box] (help)
D - dirt
E - evergreen (help)
F - family
G - ground
H - house
I - ice
J - jump
K - kid
L - life
M - mud
N - nature (help)
O - outside
P - puddle
Q - quiet (sense of hearing)
R - rock
S - snow
T - tree
U - urine (Greyson had to pee at just the right time)
V - vegetation (help)
W - winter
X - (For this letter we just had Greyson find a "letter X" in nature - he found two trees that crossed each other to form an X)
Y - yawn (sense of hearing)
Z - zipper
We made it to the bridge and the river and continued to explore. Clayton took Greyson down to the river and had him feel the water. It sure was cold. Then we each picked out a stick and played the "Winnie-the-Pooh game" (where we all dropped our sticks at the same time then run to the other side of the bridge to see whose stick came out first; Clayton, then me, and then Greyson). We then did a little more exploring and finally headed back home. It was a nice time spent with family and nature.
